More About Me – Abigail Leigh Reed

Abi discovered her passion for writing when she joined the high school newspaper staff in her sophomore year. She continued with journalism, writing for her college paper. When her children (now grown) were born, she found a love of creative writing. She is a former florist, owning a shop specializing in weddings and parties, and has also worked in property management and caregiving for the elderly.

When not working, Abi is a voracious reader, especially of cozy mysteries, and a creative at heart. Besides writing, she enjoys cooking/baking, singing karaoke, creating designs for and carving pumpkins (including for the Westin Hotel, South Coast Plaza), doodling chalk art on the chalkboard-painted furnace door in her home, and decorating for the holidays.

She loves the garden—especially their 23 rose bushes—blooms are often found scattered in jars and vases throughout the house. And watching the hummingbird nest in the fuchsia plant hanging outside her bedroom window each spring is pure joy (see hummingbird video). Abi feels lucky to be living in her gorgeous hometown.
